Fleet & motor vehicle insurance

From just a few vehicles, a single fleet contract replaces scattered policies: cover adjusted vehicle by vehicle, simpler administration, and a premium linked to your claims record.

Two minutes is all it takes: tell us who you are and what needs covering. We come back with compared quotes.

The essentials

Company cars, vans, lorries or registered site machinery: as soon as several vehicles are on the road for the business, individual policies become a burden to manage, scattered renewal dates, uneven cover, an endorsement at every change. A fleet contract brings them together: one policy, a single renewal date, terms negotiated for the whole fleet, and vehicles that join or leave the fleet during the year by simple notification.

Cover remains adjustable vehicle by vehicle. Third-party liability, compulsory for every vehicle registered in Switzerland, covers damage caused to third parties. Casco cover is then tailored: comprehensive for recent or leased vehicles, partial for the rest of the fleet, with deductibles differentiated according to use. And any authorised employee can take the wheel, with no list of named drivers to maintain.

A fleet premium is usually not based on an individual no-claims bonus: it reflects the company’s actual claims record. Every claim avoided therefore has a direct effect on the cost of the following years. Monitoring the statistics, adjusting deductibles and working on prevention all form part of our support, that is how the premium comes down over the long term.

What this insurance covers

  • Motor third-party liability

Compulsory for every registered vehicle: it covers bodily injury and property damage caused to third parties by your vehicles, trailers included.

  • Partial casco

Theft, fire, natural hazards, glass breakage, collision with animals, marten damage: damage suffered by the vehicle without an at-fault collision.

  • Comprehensive casco

Adds collision damage to the vehicle itself, including when the driver is at fault, recommended for recent vehicles, often required under a lease.

  • Goods and tools in transit

Equipment, tools and goods carried in your vehicles, during transport or loading, depending on the extension chosen.

  • Replacement vehicle and assistance

Breakdown service, towing and replacement vehicle costs to limit downtime when a fleet vehicle is out of service.

  • Waiver of gross negligence

The insurer waives its right to reduce benefits in the event of the driver’s gross negligence, subject to the policy’s exclusions, valuable when many employees drive.

Who it is for

  • Construction companies and tradespeople: vans, utility vehicles and registered site machinery.
  • Service companies whose employees have company cars.
  • Retailers, delivery services and hauliers on the road for their clients every day.
  • SMEs and institutions whose teams share a pool of vehicles.
  • Any company running even a few vehicles registered in its name or held on lease.

Frequently asked questions

How many vehicles does it take for a fleet contract to make sense?

Usually just a few, the threshold varies from one contract to another. The benefit is twofold: consolidated administration, with one policy, one renewal date and simple changes, and overall pricing negotiated across the whole fleet. Below the threshold, well-coordinated individual policies remain the right solution, and we compare them in the same way.

How is a fleet premium calculated?

Mainly on the composition of the fleet, vehicle types, use, mileage, and on the observed claims record. A favourable record carries weight in negotiations; a run of claims feeds through into subsequent premiums. We monitor these statistics with you, adjust deductibles and identify useful prevention measures.

Do all vehicles have to be insured in the same way?

No, and that is one of the advantages of a fleet contract: each vehicle keeps its own cover. Comprehensive casco for recent or leased vehicles, partial casco or liability only for fully depreciated vehicles, deductibles differentiated according to use. The contract remains single; the protection remains tailored.

Who may drive the vehicles in a company fleet?

In principle, all employees authorised by the company, without naming individual drivers. Some clauses nevertheless deserve careful reading: young drivers, private use of company cars, lending vehicles to third parties. We check that the terms match the reality of your operations.
